we planned to install petasan on 5 supermicro servers, type CSE-826 (quite old), Adaptec Controller ASR-5405z.
A RAID1 array is configured, trying to install petasan OS here.
We have additional 10 JBOD disks for the ceph storage.
The installation is cancelled with the following errors:
mount: mounting /mnt/cdrom/petasan.squashfs on /mnt/petasan failed: No such file or directory
mount: mounting /mnt/cdrom/installer.squashfs on /mnt/installer failed: No such file or directory
...
This error repeats for various filepaths, also mkdir /mnt/installer-merged/dev/pts fails.
It finally loads VESA graphics driver and the last stdout message is:
Chroot: Cant execute /root/installer.sh: No such file or directory.
Obviously it does not find the target mounts, is the culprit missing disk/backplane drivers?
Any help appreciated :).
Thanks so much in advance.
Kind regards

I already re downloaded the iso file and flashed to another USB stick.
RAM should not be an issue (32GB), as I said, I have the feeling the disks are not recognised by the installer.
Do you happen to know which OS the installer is based on?
Maybe a solution is to inject specific drivers to the installer (though not sure yet which drivers I need).
Kind regards

Does the boot screen of the installer show after the yellow PetaSAN 3.0 message, on third or fourth like a message like Detecting PetaSAN install device with volume label PETASAN: does it show found device XX, does it show it detected the install device ?
The iso is based on Ubuntu 20.04 and kernel SUSE 15 SP1

It recognizes the device labeled "petasan" but failed with the very next step mounting /mnt/cdrom/petasan.squashfs on /mnt/petasan.
But you gave me the crucial hint :), Ubuntu 20.04 installs and works fine on my machines.
I redownloaded and flashed the iso image a third time, this time using rufus (used etcher before) and out of a sudden it worked.
No clue if etcher broke the medium...
Thanks you so much.
