Intel VROC support on Petasan 3.1

I am trying to use Intel VROC for our system disks on our nodes but I am not seeing the disks when running the install. Any chance I can add vroc support somehow like remastering the iso install?

VROC is not currently supported, we only support hardware RAID. Doing a quick search, I found that many systems do not support it, for example Proxmox do not. I understand support in mdadm raid tool for VROC was added in the version that ships since Ubuntu 20.04

You can add a feature request under our feature request topic and we can evaluate it and maybe  we can support it in future versions.

You may be able to get it to work by first installing on a different drive, then boot the system then manually configure mdadm to detect the raid and cloning the initial disk to new VROC disk. You need to adjust the UUIDs in /etc/fstab and maybe need to update initramfs to assemble the raid during boot. Maybe this will work. Note that you can buy support from us if you need, we should be able to configure this on your cluster.

Note that PetaSAN cluster is highly available can handle node failures very well, so it may not be that critical to support RAIDed OS disks.
