I would like to find out if a PetaSAN solution could be used as a Replication/Mirroring Target from an OEM SAN Source?

The built in replication/mirroring support is among 2 PetaSAN clusters.
If you wish an external SAN as replication source, we would be a passive storage target, the external SAN or some middle-ware sync software or external OS/kernel mirroring layer will be in charge of the sync.
