Some more details:
- I am playing with PetaSAN in Vmware
- I did first add 4 disks to VM and set them all up as OSD
- I did add one disk and added it as journal
- Removed one OSD disk and am trying to re-add it as an OSD with journal

Can you give more detail how you did the last step of removing the OSD, did you fail the disk manually then used the PetaSAN ui to remove it, did you use Ceph cli commands. The OSD needs to be removed from crush map as well as OSD map.
If you add a new OSD disk with journal does it work ?

January 14, 2018, 12:06 amQuote from jeenode on January 14, 2018, 12:06 amFor removing OSD, I basically disconnected disk from VM, ceph/petasan marked it as down and I did remove it via PetaSAN.
Ceph shows that osd is removed from crush map.
The actual error seems to be UI related as it actually reads
Method Not Allowed
The method is not allowed for the requested URL.
I did try the following on another node:
- Add new (virtual) disk
- try to add it with journal
- get same error
One other note, though - I do have OSD disks on these nodes that were created before journal disk was created and in the above case, I did add new disk as journal and am trying to add new disk with journal.
Can you give me some pointers as to where to look for some logs etc from petasan UI?
Thanks

I was doing this from an old-ish Chrome (version 49) and thats where I was getting the error. It did work in FF 52.
Didnt try in newer Chrome, but would expect it to work probably....
Not sure if this is a bug or you can just say - use the latest browser 🙂
