I would like to see a way of cloning a cluster to another cluster and keeping it up to date. I am thinking cluster level disaster recovery. Or simply move a cluster to new hardware without having to drop the old node and wait for rebalance after you add the new node.

Yes we have big plans for backups/snapshots/geo-replication and disaster recovery to remote clusters and cloud providers. It is a lot of work with more than one release, but we should be starting the first features in version 2.3.
