Do you know when PetaSAN will start to use the newer CEPH versions like Mimic or Nautilus? Are you planning some new release with that?

Yes we are working on an interim release 2.3.1 : it will have some minor features but mostly is for Mimic support 13.2.5/6 + Ubuntu 18.04 + Consul. We expect this in approx 6 weeks. Note most supported Ceph vendors such as Red Hat are still using Luminous, it is sometimes better to not be bleeding edge and opt for more mature.
Version 2.4 will include backup (local/sftp/cloud/Amazon), it is a lot of work so it was better to have the Mimic upgrade earlier in 2.3.1

Thanks for you answer.
Will the 2.3 be upgradable to 2.3.1 even changing the base OS from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04? What about the custom Suse kernel with patches that you are using? Will keep the same one or are you planning also to upgrade it to 4.19 series?
