PetaSAN Maximumms

Hi Team ,

How about releasing the maximums of the PetaSAN for an understanding that what aPetaSAN can support in Maximum space like in terms of Terabyte / Petabyte / Exabyte

There are no set limit for scalability  or performance. we have installations with 40 nodes and 5 petabytes.

The only limits are on the number of active paths per iSCSI lun is 8, this is really since we found VMWare and Windows client initiators do not handle 16 active paths well. Similarly the max iSCSI disk size you create is 100 TB per lun, again there is limits to VMWare of 64 TB per datastore + hard to do validation for us above 100 TB for Windows, we do however have users who use other filesystems that stripes a larger filesystem over 100 TB PetaSAN disks.

Thanks for sharing the information.

Can you share how to upload that image to larger than 100TB

you could create an rbd image by hand of any size and import it in the ui.  you can also, as posted earlier, feed your os 100 TB and it can raid them together or a file system can  stripe them..

Yes,

I can create rbd image by GUI and I resize image rbd more than 100TB by hand.

i have 4 node cluster, i required 1000 ISCSI disk with 100 GB each....is there any limitations in creating ISCSI disk number?..

We have not tested greater than 256 active disks per gateway but it could go higher. You could also manually increase the size per disk to greater than 100 TB, but we have not tested it.
