hypothetical hardware scenario

things are running just fine with our backup array, I even rebooted one of them while a backup was running and had no issues.

now for the next project I would like to entertain the use of SAS storage arrays for example:

three of these set up as JBOD

K2R84A HPE MSA 2040 ES dual SAS 12gb C8S53A controllers SFF Storage San

each one attached to a 12gb/s card on a 12gb/s 1U server with max core and ram requirements

what do you think? would there be a bottleneck issue with regards to the 12GB SAS connection per server? or would the petasan os see things differently?  I would be raid 0 on each drive / jbod

anyone ever done things this way?

It will probably not be an issue unless your workload uses large ( 1-4 MB ) block sizes  such as backups and video streaming and your network and cpu can sustain higher throughput.  In most other workloads with smaller block size, your cpu cores will most probably saturate long before.

thank you
