had few question on best recommendation for making a PetaSAN cluster with replication.
- if one is trying to make a 3 node cluster with data replication. is it recommended that all three nodes shall have identical OS disk, cache, journal and OSD disks (both count of disk and size of disk) ?
- for making a small cluster above three nodes . is it recommended to have nodes in odd numbers like 3, 5, 7 ..etc or can number of nodes in cluster be even number ones like 4,6,8 ..etc ?
- is it not recommended to have HDD as OSD disks, should all disks be SSD only?
- for boot disk also is it recommended to have min 64 GB? or 32 GB disk is enough ?
Thanks in Advance

As a rule in a clustered system, you should use identical components. Else a slower component will be a bottleneck. As large size disk will get more ios, hence will be loaded more than a smaller size disk of the same make. It is possible to have 2 different disk types: fast/slow and create 2 different pools, but still have symmetric setup in all your hosts.

no it has no effect

All SSDs are recommended. You should use Enterprise SSDs with power loss protection. HDDs are cheaper but their performance is not good for doing virtualization loads but can be good for backups and streaming.
